EQUAL OPPORTUNITY CELL


The Equal Opportunity Cell of the College ensures that all students are treated as equal and attempts to address deep-seated inequalities in our system it also guides weaker section students to avail of all permissible scholarships and financial assistance and other facilities and privileges.

Our college has always ensured that physically challenged and other weaker sections students do not get left behind in the learning process. Faculties pay more attention to their special needs and provide them more encouragement and support by conducting special classes for them after college hours. Also, the College makes it their prerogative to provide scribes for the disabled students during tests and exams.

Target Group:

EOC works for affirmative action for the deprived sections such as persons from SC, ST, OBC ( Non‐creamy layer) categories, persons from religious & language minorities, differently‐abled persons and Women.

The objectives of the Cell are:

1. To create an atmosphere of Equal Opportunity through awareness generation programmes.
2. To provide auxiliary support towards skill development and enhancing employability of students.
3. To tailor development and sensitization programmes to meet the distinct needs of the students.
4. To expedite legal redressal in matters of violation of equal opportunity.

Functions

• To ensure equity and equal opportunity to the community at large in the college and bring about social inclusion.
• To create a socially congenial atmosphere for academic interaction and for the growth of healthy interpersonal relationships among the students
coming from various social backgrounds.
• To help individuals or a group of students belonging to the disadvantaged section of the society to contain the problems related to discrimination.
• To look into the grievances of the weaker section of society and suggest amicable solution to their problems.
• To organize periodic meetings to monitor the progress of different schemes.
• To sensitize the college on the problems of SC/ST and other disadvantaged groups.
