INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS ADMISSIONS PROCESS


Williams International Student has established the International Students Cell for assisting international students to tackle various issues such as extension of visas, accommodations and other concerns. The International Students’ Cell guides international students in order to adopt to the new environment.

Admission Process

• Fill online Application Form.
• Fill the Application Form, upload the required academic certificates/documents, and submit it by paying the Application fee.
• Fulfil the Eligibility Criteria (AIU Equivalency Certificate to be obtained if required) and get Admission Offer letter with fee structure and Bank Account Details.
• Once Seat Blocking/Registration is done, Provisional Admission & Letter for Student VISA are issued.
• Report to Classes after submitting Original Certificates/Documents and Payment of remaining tuition fee for the first year.
• Register with Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) to obtain Residential Permit (Within 14 days of arrival) in India.
Students who have qualified from foreign universities or Boards of Higher Education recognised as equivalent by the ‘Association of Indian Universities’ (AIU) are eligible for the admission. If required, a reference will be made to AIU to check the equivalency. In case the University /Board is not included in the list, the candidate has to obtain and submit an equivalency certificate from AIU by paying the requisite fee.
International students who would like to study Bachelor’s and Master’s Programmes in Williams need to obtain Equivalency/Equivalence Certificate from AIU, New Delhi for their previous educational qualification (Grade 12th or Bachelor Degree).
To obtain the equivalency certificate, the following document copies along with the prescribed fee should be sent to the address given below. Applicants can directly apply or through the International Students Office for the equivalency certificate from AIU.

Instructions to international students

Registration – International students are instructed to register with Foreigners’ Regional Registration Office (FRRO), 5th Floor, BMTC Bus Stand Building, A Block, TTMC, K H Road, Shanthinagar, Near ESI Hospital, Bangalore–560027. You should register your name at the Foreigners’ Regional Registration Officer (FRRO) within 14 days of your arrival in India.

Check List of supporting documents required for registration with FRRO:
1. Passport size Photographs – Two copies.
2. Request letter addressed to the FRRO, Bangalore(in case of delay and overstay only)
3. Copy of Passport – Photo page, Visa page, Visa Card page and Arrival date page of Passport
4. Address proof- Residential certificate by Hostel / Lease agreement copy along with the copy of electricity bill / Telephone bill / Ration card and ID proof of the Owner (if not staying in Hostel)
5. Original Bonafide Certificate from the Institution
6. College Fee Receipt.
FRRO Registration is not applicable for the students from Bhutan & Nepal.

If you look at the bottom of your VISA pages you will notice prints that read:

“Registration required within 14 days of arrival in India for a VISA valid for more than 180 days”.

Visit the URL https://indianfrro.gov.in/eservices/eRegistration.jsp to fill the online application to register with FRRO to obtain Residential Permit.
Submit the application and the supporting documents to FRRO.
On submission of the above-said checklist particulars, FRRO will provide you with Residential Permit, which will be valid for only one year generally.

NOTE:

It should be noted that you should be aware of the validity of your STUDENT VISA issued by the Indian Embassy.
In case of expiry of residential permit and STUDENT VISA, the international student has to follow the same procedure to obtain an extension for the same until the completion of the course from FRRO, Bangalore.

4. Address proof- Residential certificate by Hostel authority / Lease agreement copy along with a copy of electricity bill /Telephone bill / Ration card and ID proof of the Owner (if not staying in Hostel)
5. Bank letter or Pass Book
6. Original Bonafide Certificate from the Educational Institution
7. College Fee Receipt
8. Police report from the local police station
